Hippocrates said, “let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food’. I believe there could not be a more truer statement in today’s world.
We know now that over 80% of diabetes, heart disease, digestive issues, obesity and some cancers are influenced by what we choose to eat. Yet, when we live in a busy, stressed out world, full of convenience, it is no wonder that we might have landed ourselves in a predicament. The good news? Personalized Cooking with the Healing Kitchen
Being newly diagnosed with a medical condition can be highly stressful and overwhelming. Yet, we still need to nourish ourselves in the best way possible – not always an easy task when we are not feeling up to it, or even busy.
We have a solution to take this worry off your plate.
The Healing Kitchen offers, highly individualized personal cooking for people who are newly diagnosed with a specific illness or have been living with a chronic condition. After having a meeting to get a thorough evaluation of your condition, your food likes, dislikes, foods we need to avoid or include we will come up with a plan that works best for you, be it one to five days of cooking. We can also help with meal planning, education and consultations with your healthcare team.

What are Cookshops? Half cooking class/demo, half workshop, Cookshops are hands-on learning at their best. We meet once a week for three weeks to discuss important topics with a variety of health issues, then learn through tasting.
Private Cooking Lessons
We all need to eat, and eating well is the foundation of health. For most of us, however, we were not born with a skillet in our hands. You know you need to make changes to what you are eating but sometimes you need a little guidance and assistance.
Private cooking lessons at the Green Palette Kitchen are highly individualized to address your specific health condition or concerns. After an initial meeting to go over your health history, food requirements, likes and dislikes, Heather will create an individual cooking lesson plan that is both interactive and suited for your cooking expertise. You won’t believe healthy can actually be this easy and taste this good.
In our 2-hour, interactive sessions we will:
- discuss foods that support overall health as well as your specific health condition
- explore recipes that are not only nutritious but that also taste delicious. Flavor is my motto!
- discover the secrets to simple, effortless cooking
- practice cooking skills and knife skills in a supportive, relaxed environment
- cook, taste, eat, enjoy!

- classes, which include all handouts, food to taste and take home, are for one to two people and are $200 for the first person and $75 for an additional person. A consultation fee will also be added on.
